The Best Day and Time to Sell on Ebay.
There are 3 factors to take into account determining the best day and time to sell, below we will look at all 3.
Length of Auction:
Most Experts suggest a seven day auction. This longer auction allows the listing to attract more attention and more viewers to what you are selling. There are special cases where a one day auction is better, a super hot item that everyone wants and has a very fast turn over for instance. Also, remember that a Seven day Auction covers the whole week, this includes the prime viewing weekend times where number of hits (views) will increase a lot. Always remember your starting day determines your ending day, and you need to take that into account when you post your auction, which brings us to our second factor.
Day Auction Ends:
Sunday is considered to be the best day to end an Auction, with Saturday and Friday close seconds. Holiday weekends are a great time to be seen, and you definitely want to be listed on them, BUT most experts advise against ending an Auction on a holiday. In that case end the auction on the next day after.
Auction End times:
The most important timing factor is the actual times the auction ends. Most experts agree you should schedule your auctions to end as listed:
•Between 10PM and Midnight for Eastern US Time Zone.
•Between 8PM and 10 PM for Mountain.
•Between 7PM and 9 PM if you are on the West Coast.
The Eastern sea board contains the largest concentration of buyers, and the period between 10 PM and Midnight is the most popular time for buying. This also provides strong coverage to the other Time Zones. The exception to this is if you have a large item that is local pick-up only and live say in Los Angeles. In that case your customers are going to be almost all local so you should choose a prime end time for your local area 10PM for the Los Angeles example mentioned above.
